elda is a small and intimate restaurant sat above the river Tas in the old Colman’s mustard grain store at Stoke Mill, in Norfolk.
We serve an 8-course tasting menu that evolves weekly that features the best local produce supplemented with exciting ingredients from further afield; all cooked in front of you from start to finish by Chris and Hazel.
Chris has been a chef for 10 years and has cooked at some of the World’s greatest restaurants and alongside Heston Blumenthal at his lab in France. Chris was more recently cooking at Meadowsweet in Norfolk, before he left in 2024 to be a stay at home dad.
During that time Chris took part in Masterchef: The Professionals
in 2025, which got him back in the kitchen and gave him a renewed focus. The elda pop-up took shape the night Chris left the competition, and after a successful 6 month run, elda became a permanent restaurant in 2026.
Hazel is a remarkable woman who became a chef in 2020 after her career as a teacher. She jumped right in and cooked alongside Liam Nicholls at STORE in the space that elda now occupies. Hazel has been honing her craft at Stoke Mill ever since.
